In this versatile solid-walnut piece, what appears to be a simple chest conceals an unexpected feature. Just below its slightly overhanging top, softened with radiused edges, a shelf pulls out to create a wide, functional desktop with generous work space. Beneath it, a false drawer-front drops down to reveal a compartment with a power strip for electronics.
